Which brands make Dragon Ball Z figures?
Bandai Spirits is the main manufacturer of Dragon Ball Z figures, notably through the Bandai Tamashii Nations and Banpresto brands. MegaHouse also offers the Desktop Real McCoy line, inspired by scenes and illustrations by Akira Toriyama. Other licensed manufacturers occasionally release figures or statues dedicated to characters from the series.
What is the difference between Tamashii Nations and Banpresto?
Tamashii Nations is Bandai Spirits' collectible brand and includes lines such as S.H.Figuarts and Figuarts ZERO. Banpresto is another Bandai Spirits brand, historically specialising in prize figures for Japanese amusement centres and arcade machines. It mainly offers fixed-pose PVC figures in a variety of sizes and price ranges.
What do Masterlise, Grandista, History Box and World Collectable Figure mean?
Masterlise refers to detailed fixed-pose figures mainly associated with the Ichiban Kuji and Ichibansho collections. Grandista focuses on larger character figures, while History Box recreates iconic scenes in a more compact format. World Collectable Figure consists of small figures with stylised proportions, designed to bring together many characters in a limited display space.

Are Banpresto and S.H.Figuarts figures in the same scale?
No. Dragon Ball Z S.H.Figuarts are generally close to 1/12 scale, while Banpresto figures do not all follow a common scale. Their size varies depending on the collection: World Collectable Figure models are very compact, while Grandista figures take up considerably more space in a display cabinet.

Why are Son Goku, Vegeta and Son Gohan available in so many versions?
These characters change outfits, appearances and transformations throughout the different Dragon Ball Z sagas. Manufacturers can therefore represent each important period, such as Son Goku on Namek, Vegeta under Babidi's influence or Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan facing Cell.
This variety makes it possible to follow the evolution of a single character or build a collection around a particular transformation, battle or story arc.
Do Dragon Ball Z figures increase in value?

A closed display cabinet greatly reduces dust accumulation and the need for frequent cleaning. Its doors should fit properly to protect the figures without creating a humid enclosed environment.
Can a figure be displayed in sunlight?
It is not recommended to display a figure in direct sunlight. Light and ultraviolet rays can gradually and irreversibly alter pigments, paint and certain plastics.
How can you prevent plastic from fading or yellowing?
Figures should be kept away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, smoke and major fluctuations in humidity. A temperature-controlled room and a display cabinet positioned away from windows can help slow the ageing of plastics and paint.
How should small parts and accessories be stored?
Hands, faces, effects and other small parts can be kept in their original packaging or in separate, labelled compartments. They should not be left loose in order to prevent loss, rubbing and paint transfer.
