This diorama depicts Weathertop from The Lord of the Rings, produced by Weta Workshop as a polystone environment measuring 19 cm in height.
Weathertop, also known as Amon Sul, is one of the key locations in The Lord of the Rings. In the film context, the ruined watchtower becomes the setting for a night-time encounter between the Hobbits and the Ringwraiths during the journey from the Shire toward Rivendell.
The scene is associated with the events of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, where a small campfire on the hill draws danger toward the ruins. The location combines the remnants of ancient Numenorean architecture with the exposed landscape of a remote hilltop.
This diorama reproduces Weathertop as a ruined environment, with broken stonework, fragmented architectural forms and weathered terrain arranged around the remains of the ancient watchtower. The composition presents the circular ruin and the surrounding rocky landscape as a single display piece.
A small stony cave is integrated into the side of the environment. The cave includes a campfire element that refers to the scene in which the Hobbits' fire attracts the attention of the Ringwraiths.
The design combines digitally sculpted architecture with hand-sculpted terrain details. The stone ruins include cracks, fallen blocks and eroded surfaces to convey the aged structure of the watchtower.
The paint finish uses subdued twilight and dusky tones to reflect the atmosphere of the night sequence. The contrast between the stone architecture, natural ground texture and warm campfire area helps define the visual setting of the environment.
The architecture was digitally sculpted by Charlotte Key, with environment sculpting by Shaun Bolton and Shanti Costar.
The diorama is made primarily from polystone. It measures 42 cm in width, 19 cm in height and 28.5 cm in depth, with a weight of approximately 5.99 kg.
The format is a limited edition environment, produced in an edition size of 1000 pieces.
Integrated USB-C powered LED lights are used to evoke the flickering campfire glow inside the cave area. This lighting element is part of the diorama's fixed display composition.
